Star Citizen Alpha 4.5.0 - "Dawn of Engineering" is a major update for Star Citizen, adding long-awaited Engineering gameplay to the verse, along with updates and improvements to the Vulkan renderer, and the introduction of experimental support for Virtual reality.

Star Citizen Alpha 4.5.0 has been released onto the LIVE environment!
Your launcher should now display: VERSION 4.5.0-LIVE.10966564
Star Citizen Alpha contains over 150 bug and crash fixes since 4.4.0. 39 of which came from the issue council.
Stability & Performance
- Fixed 20 Client Crashes
- Error 41013 no longer appears upon logging in after restarting the game
- Many Performance Levski Performance Improvements
Gameplay Bug Fixes
Missions
- Cargo hauling on the Hull C now correctly transfers cargo during automated loading
- Delivery missions in Nyx now properly complete when turning in packages
- Retrieve Run delivery missions now complete when delivering packages via freight elevator
- Defend Ship missions now correctly spawn the ship you need to protect
- Escort missions now progress properly upon reaching the mission location
- Patrol missions now update objectives after reaching location markers
- Salvage mission objectives now update correctly after reaching the mission area
- Eliminate All missions now complete after defeating all enemies
- Storm Breaker Specimen Cache doors now open correctly during the Egg Procedure
- Hauling Interstellar missions now accept all appropriate cargo types
- Recover Item missions in Nyx now have proper "Place Item" interaction prompts
- Hostile NPC ships in Nyx missions no longer remain stationary after spawning
Vehicles & Ships
- Hull C automated cargo loading no longer freezes mid-transfer
- F8C Lightning invulnerable spots on top and bottom of ship have been fixed
- Wolf L22 invulnerable spots on the bottom of the ship have been fixed
- Constellation Taurus bridge cargo bay now has proper collision
- MOLE mining laser heads can now be changed in the Vehicle Manager App
- ATLS GEO mining scanner HUD now functions correctly
- Carrack medical bed screens now deploy when a player lies down
- MFDs no longer incorrectly default to target selection/self status instead of engineering power
- Quantum travel no longer stops shortly after starting in certain situations
- Radar and MFD elements no longer disappear based on head movement position
Nyx System & Levski
- Mission locations in Nyx no longer lack collision upon arrival
- Levski elevator carriages now face the correct direction on arrival
- Levski hangar elevators no longer cause players to bounce or fall through gaps
- Levski docking collar UI alignment fixed, allowing capital ships to dock properly
- EVA external collision holes allowing entry into Levski interior have been fixed
- Window collision exploits at Levski have been fixed
- Missing interior map layouts for Levski docking ports have been addressed
- ATC voice lines no longer all play simultaneously when requesting takeoff
- Pyro-Nyx Gateway instanced hangars now open correctly when first hailed
- Ships delivered to Levski docking ports no longer require claims at Jump Point Stations
- External freight elevator tractor beam range issues at Levski fixed
Law & Security
- Players no longer receive 100+ "Escaped Custody" charges when killed by guards while waiting for rescue
- Hacking and disabling comm arrays now properly removes monitored space
- Station defense turrets now properly return fire when attacked
- Turrets and AI now engage hostile players without requiring the player to fire first
- Anti-Personnel turrets now target multiple body areas instead of only waist level
Inventory & Cargo
- Ammunition repooling no longer incorrectly repositions ammo into new slots
- Items purchased with aUEC liveries now persist between major patches
- Contested Zone items now persist correctly between patches
- "Move All" from legacy inventory screen now properly transfers all loot from AI
- Item duplication that occurred after new patches has been fixed
- Freight elevators now properly unstow entities instead of causing "Elevator Overloaded" errors
Event Content
- Yormandi creature now spawns correctly when the lever is pulled
- Warehouse Passcode Disks in Welcome to Nyx Tech Smuggler now respawn
- AAA grade Valakkar pearls now spawn correctly during Storm Breaker
- Vanduul now trigger appropriate voice lines during Welcome to Nyx
UI & Quality of Life
- Placeholder text removed from Hockrow Agency Dossier in Rep app
- Boomtube Rocket Launcher sight alignment corrected when aiming
- Freight Elevator terminal search function now works with localized item names
- Shopping kiosks now show if Cambio-Lite SRT Canisters are full or empty
- Refinery Kiosk now properly detects stored salvaging vehicles as material locations
- Collector missions now show correct recipe items (More Than A Max, Fun Military Tooth Gun, Hide Snow Suit)
Miscellaneous
- Quantum interdiction effects no longer persist after crash recovery when no Mantis is present
- External freight elevators now present at all stations
- New Player Experience contract offers no longer appear while NPE tutorial is active

Star Citizen Alpha 4.5.0 - Known Issues
- Some hostile AI enemies will not shoot at players during combat encounters
- Distribution Centers have missing areas and no collision, causing players and AI to fall through the environment
- The Apex Valakkar does not spawn when activating the Pylon at the Research Facility during the Storm Breaker mission
- Some players may encounter a fatal error when launching the game related to Vulkan graphics initialization
Gameplay & Missions
- Ship inventory is missing from Commodity Kiosks unless the ship is stored at that location
- Players are unable to select locations on the Ore Sales or Refinement Processing kiosks
- Pinging the "Ping Area" marker occupied by a Satellite during Search and Destroy missions will not update the marker to disappear
- AR Markers are missing for most friendly AI during missions
- Some AI appear dead after takedown but they are only incapacitated
- Tobin's mission intro dialogue occasionally cuts off early during the Welcome to Nyx mission
- AI Vanduul pilots can crash into the QV Station during Welcome to Nyx
Vehicles & Ships
- Retaliator fires can spread to a point where the player is unable to extinguish them
- When retrieving a ship that requires a larger hangar, the ship may still spawn in the smaller incorrect hangar
- Vehicle destruction sound effects do not always play
- Cambio SRT repair tool cannot be reloaded
Locations
- Small hangars at Levski are inaccessible and cannot be used
- The exterior of Levski does not have a map in the AR HUD or mobiGlas
- Many areas of Levski are missing from the interior map layout
- Placeholder "Replace Me" texture visible on Clinic desks at multiple Rest Stops and LEOs
- Small ships can clip into hangars
Audio
- ATC dialogue such as "You are clear to launch" randomly plays while walking around landing zones
- Repair hit marker sounds can play endlessly when adjusting sound volume during repairs
Cargo
- Items on freight elevator loading platforms at Staging Hangars or Outposts can be deleted after a server error
UI
- The Interaction Wheel inconsistently closes when trying to use it
- ASOP Terminal inside hangar can remain stuck on loading screen after destroying a ship on the pad
- Shop item names and descriptions do not support community localization
Gameplay & Missions
- Loot is missing at various locations throughout the verse
- Backup shields fail to engage when primary shields are depleted
- Loot boxes lose interaction if the interact key is double-clicked too quickly
Vehicles
- Retaliator coolers do not receive damage
- Starlancer engineering and cockpit rooms incorrectly retain atmosphere while in space with breaches
- Origin 400i cargo items placed on the cargo grid cannot be tractor beamed from outside the ship
- ARGO RAFT Wikelo Reward skin has texture issues on the tractor beam gimbal
- Crusader Intrepid has visual portal issues when inside the cargo elevator
Locations
- Orison has leftover IAE event guards and NPCs remaining in the lobby area
- AI at Orison outdoor areas remain idle in their spawn locations
- Levski Hospital elevator door can push players outside the station
- Ghost Arena and Orbituary entrance elevators have missing collision allowing players to clip into the station
- Severe visual rendering issues on the Polaris at the QV Station in Nyx
- Jump Point stations in Nyx and Pyro have armor shop mannequins with missing armor
Visual & Animation
- External freight elevator platform doors are missing some interior textures
- Helmets visibly shift position at the end of the attach-to-hip animation
- When jumping while carrying a helmet, the wrong animation plays (shows crate carry animation instead)
- Paladin has noticeable visual culling on the entrance area when viewed from distance
- NPCs briefly T-pose when reacting to threats
UI & Items
- Turtle collectible items display placeholder text in inventory screens and the interaction wheel
- Dust Up Helmet Desert and Dust Up Helmet Tactical have identical colors
- The Sky Scraper and Icebreaker racetracks are not searchable on the Starmap
- NPE Horizon Helmet displays as the wrong variant
Audio
- Fire alarm sound effects do not extend beyond the current room on ships
Stability
- Some players may experience out of memory crashes during extended play sessions
